Letting Go of Expectations to Heal
Let them win on purpose!
Lately, I figured out a way to get rid of the pain I was feeling: I decided to ditch the expectations causing it.
Yeah, Expectations- I got rid of them!
It wasn’t easy. It felt like my mind was going haywire. But, deep down, I knew it was something I had to do.
I thought I deserved rights, respect, value, and all that good stuff from someone. But guess what? I made a mistake! That person wasn’t worth it.
I fought hard because I didn’t want to let go of what I thought I deserved. Then, I read somewhere that sometimes you have to leave the table if it’s not meant for you. And, that hit hard.
Turns out, my expectations weren’t crazy; I just had them set on the wrong person. Well, I was sitting at the wrong table.
So, I decided to gather my courage and leave that toxic setup — ditch the person and the whole situation. In other words, I had to stop expecting anything good from that person and move on.
Taking those tough steps was like ripping off a Band-Aid from an unhealed wound. It hurt, but here’s the surprise — the pain of letting go and moving on was way less than the agony of sticking around in a toxic mess. And guess what? I healed faster than I thought.
